Message Machine Behind TV Analysts, Pentagon’s Hidden Hand

I don't think the power of the media should be in the hands of the government. It is too much power for a group or organization to have without a buffer or a filter of what goes on the media. They need something to verify the information that is published and viewed on television. The government can lie about anything and the public will believe it. Having the power of the media is almost God like, they can control the public and what type of society it can become. Government controlled media can be seen simply to be media that operates in a government controlled environment. There are three main concepts behind media that have emerged from such an environments. Authoritarianism is seen to be the oldest and most pervasive concept, with two modifications in the 20th Century; the Communist and Developmental Concepts. In today's media, the government controls what is on television, newspapers, radio, just everything. One big example is what they put on television. Usually on CNN they have coverage on the war in Iraq. I just think its another way of having propaganda to encourage others to join the army and enter the war.
